Taste of Home Cafe & Catering Announces Opening of New Café Location in Bland
Bland, VA — February 20, 2026 — Taste of Home Cafe & Catering, a well-known and trusted name in the local food community, is pleased to announce the anticipated opening of its new café location at 696 Main Street in Bland, Virginia. The potential opening date will be in early May 2026.
This expansion marks an exciting new chapter for the established Bland County business. Known for dependable catering services and homestyle cooking, Taste of Home Cafe & Catering is now bringing its signature homemade meals to a full-service café setting in the heart of town.
The café is owned and operated by Janice Buchanan and Ira Buchanan, along with business partner Mary Taylor, who share a passion for serving their community with quality food and welcoming hospitality.
The new café will serve fresh, homemade breakfast and lunch options in a warm and inviting environment. Operating hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., offering a convenient dining option for early risers, local workers, and families.
In addition to daily café service, Taste of Home Cafe & Catering will continue offering after-hours catering services for private events, business functions, and community gatherings. The new location will also feature event space availability, providing a comfortable venue for meetings, celebrations, and special occasions.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support our community has shown us,” said the owners. “Opening this café allows us to expand while continuing to serve the homemade meals our customers know and love.”
Timothy Havens, Chairman of the Bland County Economic Development Authority, added, “We are so pleased to welcome Taste of Home Cafe & Catering to our Main Street location. Expanding an existing business is paramount to the mission of the Bland County EDA.”
Cameron Burton, Administrator for Bland County, also shared her support, stating, “We've known Janice and her love of home cooked meals for years. She shows her heart in every plate served.”
Stephen Kelley, member of the Bland County Board of Supervisors, stated, “The work of Economic Development is a long process. It takes time, effort, and the respect of business owners. I applaud the work of the Bland County EDA and their commitment to this pivotal work.”
