Bland County Rolls Out New Website

The Bland County website has not had a major redesign in many years. That’s changing this fall, as the county rolls out a new and innovative website.

The site was built using the iPlasmaCMS2 Content Management System to provide for a secure and scalable platform that county employees can customize when necessary.

The new website features three areas of information: Government, Business, and Tourism. The website also features a calendar of events, news feed, Google search and translate, and useful information for residents, local businesses, and visitors.

The government section will include the Departments Module, providing departmental websites for each governmental department within Bland County.

The business section will provide information about economic development in Bland County.

The tourism section will provide information, links, and points of interest for visitors.

“As more citizens are gaining information through the use of technology, it is important that the County follow suit. The goal is to utilize technology to keep citizens and visitors better informed of events happening in the County of Bland,” said Eric Workman, County Administrator.
