The Bland County Board of Supervisors will be accepting public comment regarding the proposed modifications to the local election districts. These modifications are proposed in accordance with the 2020 Census Data and changes to the Code of Virginia: election districts must be within a 5% population deviation, non-local inmates at correctional facilities are no longer counted towards election district counts, and election district boundaries have to be aligned with census data blocks.

 The Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the proposed local redistricting plan which includes the local ordinance and map on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 5:00 pm in the Bland County Courthouse. Should citizens wish to submit written comment on the proposed plan, the Board of Supervisors will collect written public comments via the Bland County Website at www.blandcountyva.gov using the Contact feature on the website, or fax 276-688-9758, or mail at P.O. Box 510, Bland, VA 24315. Written Comments will be received through November 20, 2021.

The public can view the proposed local district map and proposed ordinance at www.blandcountyva.gov, the General Registrar’s Office (20 Fairgrounds St., Bland, VA), or at County Administration Office (612 Main St., Suite 201, Bland, VA).
