Bland County, has experience multiple forest / brush fires recently due to dry and windy weather conditions. Because of the extreme fire danger, a local emergency has been declared, banning open-air burning effective 12:00 p.m. (noon), Thursday, May 12, 2022 until further notice. Bland County is expected receive rainfall in the coming days, at which time notice will be provided to lift the ban if conditions are improved.
