Public Hearing - Public Comment on the Service Authority's Newly Proposed Water Rate Structure
The Bland County Service Authority will hold a public hearing at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the Bland County Courthouse in the main Courtroom located at 612 Main Street for the purpose of soliciting public comment on the Authority’s newly proposed water rate structure. Any new rates will become effective July 1, 2022. An outline of the newly proposed water and sewer rate structure is as follows:
Proposed Residential Water Rate
Charge Usage
$20.00 minimum for usage from .......0 to 1000 gallons
8.03 for each additional 1000 gallons up to 20,000 gallons
5.54 for each additional 1000 gallons up to 50,000 gallons
4.43 for each additional 1000 gallons up to 100,000 gallons
3.88 for each additional 1000 gallons exceeding 100,000

$30.00 minimum for usage from .......0 to 2000 gallons
10.00 for each additional 1000 gallons up to 20,000 gallons
15.00 for each additional 1000 gallons exceeding 20,000

Charge $9,000 for the Installation of a 2” Water Meter Connection
(Does not include service line installation)
Proposed 4” Sewer Connection Fee
Charge $700 for the connection of a 4” Sewer Line with cleanout
