The Bland County Planning Commission will begin work on reviewing and updating the Bland County Comprehensive Plan in 2015. The comprehensive plan is an important guide as plans are made and actions are taken regarding the future of the county. We anticipate the review and update process to last throughout 2015 and into 2016. Mt. Rogers Planning District Commission (MRPDC) will be assisting as the comprehensive plan is reviewed and updated. This meeting is more specifically an orientation meeting for appointed members of the County's authorities, boards and commissions and is open to the public.

AEP has notified the County that the power will be out in areas surrounding the Courthouse from 3-5pm today; some other areas east of the I-77 Bland interchange may experience two short 30 minute power outages as work is carried out by AEP. Our offices will reopen on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 8:30 am.
